Santal Mission: Dudhmu - Kajerkilo
Origin and development

In 1973, Fr. Hand Hendricks s.j. was relieved from Catholic Ashram Hazaribag and his mind and heart went into the apostolic mission amond Santals in the area of Charhi, Dudhmu areas. He founded Deen Seva Dal for evangelization and mission. He was in search of a place and set his foot at Dudhmu village near Konar dam. With his arrival a small school too began for the Santals at Kajarkilo near to Dudhmu. The Franciscan sisters of the Clarist too were willing to help out in this place with education and also basic medical help to the people. In 1990 the mission station Masi Mader Kajerkilo was inaugurated along with the school, hostel for the boys and girls. In 2008 the school was upgraded to high school.
